HGA is excited to announce that Convergence® 2028 will be held July 5–9, 2028, in Oakland, California! Mark your calendar and plan to join us for five days of classes, workshops, lectures, shopping, exhibitions, and time with fellow fiber enthusiasts from across the country and around the world.

Convergence® will be held at the Oakland Marriott City Center in Oakland, California.

New for 2028:

• Roommate Finder: Attendees interested in finding a roommate can fill out the Roommate Finder form to add their name to the list of attendees looking for a roommate.
• Speedy Registration & Name Badges: We have upgraded our registration process on-site to speed up the check-in process. Attendees will receive name badges with a QR code that will be scanned to admit them into events.
• Event App: Attendees will have access to an app to view their schedule, check out Marketplace vendors, and connect with other attendees. This app will be available before, during, and for the 90 days following Convergence®.

When you enter a Handweavers Guild of America, Inc. (HGA) event or program, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur. By entering the event premises, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by HGA and its affiliates and representatives. Images, photos and/or videos may be used to promote similar HGA events in the future, highlight the event and exhibit the capabilities of HGA. You release HGA, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication and use of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or or sound recordings. By entering the event premises, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any use, exhibition, streaming, web casting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such use, exhibiting, broadcasting, web casting, or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by HGA or the person or entity designated to do so by HGA. You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before entering and attending Convergence®.

Health & Safety Statement

Attendees are expected to follow health and safety requirements established by HGA and the event venue. By registering for Convergence®, attendees acknowledge that they are participating voluntarily and assume responsibility for their own health and safety while attending the event.

HGA is committed to maintaining a welcoming and supportive environment for all attendees. We ask that attendees use good judgment, respect the health needs of others, and refrain from attending if they are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness.

Any health and safety requirements or updates specific to Convergence® will be communicated to registered attendees as needed.
